Get lost in this dreamy wedding taking place at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Long Island NY. Shannon wore a simply breathtaking Galia Lahav gown and Devin was looking dapper chic in his suit. Earthy floral bouquets soft pastel pink brides maids dresses and lush gardens with purely spectacular water views as a backdrop. Their big day was nothing short of magical as their closest friends and family members continued the festivities despite the weather conditions. I have mentioned before that from each wedding i shoot i get to keep a little bit of their happiness with me. One of the first questions couples ask me about is “What should we wear?”
From my experience, i’ve found that a certain color, style, texture or cut enhances the way a photograph looks. The soft pastels and soft whites create a modern look, while a long dress that has a lot of movement gives your photographs a natural and romantic feel. Meanwhile strong colors (including black)and more structured garments add more drama and contrast to a plain bright environment which helps making things appear more formal…I’ve been thinking for a while about creating a helpful post for my brides to help them be inspired to pick their perfect outfit, i invited Vanessa a friend of mine to try out a few pieces i thought would be perfect for any engagement session.
